HOLD Technologies Pty Ltd was established on July 7th 2004, with the registered name of HOLD Technologies trading since the 1st of February 2002. During this time we have had various exposure to multiple industries. These industries include Horticultural, Architectural, Agriculture, Scientific, Mechanical, Materials Handling, Mining, Electrical and Structural Steel. Trevor Andrew HOLD was the founder of HOLD Technologies. He realised the overwhelming need for contract CAD operators upon completion of his Trade as a Fitter and Turner in 2002. His first involvement in Computer Aided Drafting was a full time position designing and detailing of Refrigeration products. Also, Trevor was responsible for the Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) programming required for manufacture of these products. Throughout the duration of this position Trevor completed night studies to further improve his CAD skills. Once confident in AutoCAD, Trevor brought an AutoCAD LT license and a Harvey Norman computer and set of to find CAD contracts in the Mechanical Industry. Trevor started contracting for local Toowoomba Architects and building designers. Completing many Floor Plans, Elevation Views, Sewage and Electrical Layouts and Large Site plans using advanced X-Ref procedures with-in AutoCAD. Trevor completed many drawings of existing dwellings and completed many proposed extension and/or renovation plans for costing and engineering approval. While this work was challenging and a new learning experience Trevor realised he needed more exposure to multiple industries and environments if he was to become an industry leader in CAD solutions. His first major contract was for a large CNC Manufacturing company on the South side of Brisbane. This contract involved basic 2D AutoCAD, transferring supplied existing Hand drawings and converting them to AutoCAD format. This task was completed at the Toowoomba Office and lasted over four month’s full time. This type of work continued casually until the company’s closure late 2004. Throughout this period Trevor agreed to a 6-month full time internal contract for the same client where he was trained on ITMS. A complete manufacturing program which handled Quotes, Purchase orders, Order Confirmations, Jobs and employee tracking, Purchase Items, Machine Cycles, Steel Purchasing, Goods Received and Goods Dispatched. Trevor was also heavily involved in Prototype design for many of the CNC manufacturer clients.Trevor was first introduced to 3D modeling at a position he excepted at Stanthorpe, Southern Queensland. This position was in the Horticultural Industry and was mainly using a 3D-block library in AutoCAD to complete Net designs. Whilst this position opened Trevor’s eyes to a fantastic world of 3D modeling he was still keen to continue his contracting in Brisbane city. Scientific Laboratory Equipment was Trevor’s next contract this time North of Brisbane. Contracting full time for over 9 months completing 3D AutoCAD Models of Fume Cupboards, Scrubbers, Forensic Fuming Cupboards, Drying Cabinets, Ducting and Exhaust Systems. Trevor spent a lot of time mastering 3D modeling procedures using AutoCAD 2002. This work involved creating full manufacturing drawings to the workshop and sub-contractors. While Trevor had become very familiar with 3D modeling using AutoCAD he wanted to explore all the alternative options available in the parametric world of 3D modeling.
